Leopoldo Lares Banorte teaches his players the trick of keeping it open. Being ‘open’ means being available to receive a pass from one team mate. And the position must be strategic so that the receiver may initiate a shot. Usually, these positions are near the goal so that it will be easier for the forward to attempt a shot. These openings must also be masked so that the opponents will not be able to intervene the passes. Most teams employ the ‘triangle’ technique. This technique involves two people creating a triangle with the player with the ball. This allows the person to pass the ball either way, in case the opponent attacks the player. Aside from this, the triangle also ensures visibility of the team mates.
Football is a sport that also requires being attentive and ready. Though games may be practiced, the actual situation always comes as a surprise. Leopoldo Lares Banorte always reminds his team to be on the lookout for the ball and always open.
